My folks both have IPADs - they are amazing. It's like a one-stop shop that is easily transportable. Still on the pricey side for me so I will stick with my laptop for now.
The IPAD allows you to have so many apps at your fingertips. Very similiar to the iphone but with a larger screen. You can take pictures, view them, and send them. Check out the stock market, the weather, do your banking and check your calendar. There are so many games that you can access as well. It is so practical for so many daily things.
It can replace your ipod for music, your sony or kindle for book reading, your pc for portability use. It is wonderful! If you purchased the Wi-Fi option then you can have connectivity from anywhere. But that can be very expensive. I would give this a 10 out of 10 - my rating.

Don't you love having access to the Internet away from your home? Hot spots help enable this experience. A hot spot is site that offers wireless internet connection. Establishments that offer this service of wireless local area network are places such as coffee shops, certain institutes, and other places that post-up the Wi-Fi sign. With the technology we have today, we are able to receive Wi-Fi in just about any place, even hospitals and on travel buses and such.
You can use any device such as your phone, computer, or tablet to connect to the Internet. A hot spot just does not offer Wi-Fi without connecting to anything. You must have a router connection that connects to an Internet service provider. There are two types of hot spots: free and commercial. The free spots enable you to have free wireless access while the commercial type requires some sort of security log-in or charges for the use of wireless access.

Cloud computing can be compared to the way Google offers products to their clients. All the services offered by Google are stored and maintained by Google servers, all a user has to do to access these products from anywhere and from any compatible device is register with a user name and password.
This is cloud computing in a nut shell. Business maintain hundreds of servers that make applications available to their clients, the applications stay on the servers and are accessed by a user name and password. So instead of many computers with many applications cloud computing rewrites the equation as many devices accessing a single application. This way of computing is very convenient and cost effective for businesses that need a lot of people working on one project. Because all the members of the project simply log on and begin to collaborate simultaneously even on a single project across multiple devices and multiple locations, rather than one person doing their section and passing it off to the next person and so one.

I'm here to tell you about a Internet Browser-- Google Chrome. Google Chrome is the superior internet browser because its the fastest, most powerful and safest. Google Chrome has a security feature that protects it's user from malware and phishing. The simplicity of Google Chrome is astonishing and the layout is all around user friendly.
For me, Google Chrome is the best Internet Browser because it saves all my most visited sites for super short cuts, (which makes me very happy) because I will visit alot of the same sites multiple times a day. It's also easy and organized, I showed my grandparents how to use it and they picked it up so quickly, this is fantastic for people who are causal users of the internet. Another great feature to Google Chrome is the apps, these can be anything from the daily top news to a virtual hamster, these can be extremely useful for everday.

The .gif (Graphics Interchange Format) should be used for non-animated pictures like drawings or graphics because it is limited to 8-bits or 256 colors. The .jpg (Joint Photographic Group) format is used for photograph images. It is a compression format known a "lossy" that compresses the file so it does not take up a lot of disc space, but you do lose some quality of the image. The Windows .bmp format, does not compress the image and will use more space than a .jpg image. You won't lose quality of the digital image. The .png (Portable Network Graphic) image format supports 16 million collors. It was designed to work better than .gif and .jpg with various web browsers.

Wi-Fi basically is any system that uses the 802.11 standard, which was developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Meaning that most laptops, phones and routers all use the 802.11 standard as long as it says Wi-Fi compatible. Each of these devices have a Wi-Fi network card that allows the device to connect wirelessly to a router. This wireless capability allows all of these devices to connect to the internet, or secured network without having to be on a specific computer. Wi-Fi is used in almost every device around the world today.

A hotspot is a location that an access point will provide public wireless broadband network services to a piece of device through a WLAN. They typically use Wi-Fi technology and are connected to a link to an ISP (Internet Service Provider). You can find most hotspots in popular areas such as hotels, libraries, airports, convention centers, etc. Although anybody will be able to access theses hotspots they typically have a short range.

Types of File Compression/Eve Rowe
File compression helps to make big files easier for uploading and downloading without taking out to much space on the hardrive. Also makes files much easier to send to others. The two types of compressions that I ran in to a numerous amount of times while searching the web was lossless compression and lossy compression. Lossless compression sounds better to me because the file size you start out with remains the same after the file is decompressed so you lose no data. Lossy compression is a process that makes the file size smaller and you end up losing data but not to noticible. Lossless compression is better for text files, gif files, and tiff files. Lossy compression is best used for media and jpeg files. The most common program I have run into for file compression and home and at work it winzip.

An Internet Browser is the softwaer that runs on your computer to make it work as a "web client." The Internet connects a variety of computers running on different Operating System software. Internet browser software allows your computer to talk with a variety of computers easily and effectively. This happens by running Internet browser software on your computer. Your computer then becomes a web client that can communicate through an ISP or network connection with web servers all over the world.
Some Internet browsers used today are Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. An Internet browsers title bar shows the name of the open Web pagfe and the Internet browsers program name. On the title bar you can minimize, maximize or exit out of the window as well. There are scroll bars on the right and bottom of the pages if your page is bigger than the screen. And at the bottom of the screen there is a status bar that includes information about the browsers operations.
